Chenega Analytic Business Solutions (CABS) provides federal agencies and commercial customers with trusted insights into Records and Information Management, Administrative Solutions, Information Technology, Engineering, and Training. Formed in 2017 to serve federal and commercial customers, CABS is 8(a) certified and has grown quickly into a leader in the federal IT and Training environment. The Cybersecurity Specialist is responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information systems.
This role focuses on cybersecurity compliance, continuous monitoring, security operations, and incident response in accordance with established policies and procedures for the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) at Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. Responsibilities
* Supports the full Assessment and Authorization (A&A) lifecycle by developing and maintaining security artifacts, documenting control implementation, and executing continuous monitoring strategies.
* Conducts regular system scans and audits to verify and enforce compliance with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).
* Performs weekly and ad-hoc vulnerability scans using the Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS); collaborates with technical teams to track and validate the remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
* Administers, configures, and optimizes the Elastic platform to ensure effective collection, correlation, and analysis of security event data.
* Continuously monitors security logs, dashboards, and alerts to detect, identify, and report on potential vulnerabilities, anomalies, and emerging threats.
* Leads the investigation, tracking, and resolution of malicious logic (malware) incidents.
* Serves as the primary point of contact for the management and resolution of classified data spillage incidents, coordinating with all necessary government and contractor personnel.
* Maintain a neat, secure, and orderly facility.
* Complete annual company and customer training requirements according to established policies and procedures, as required.
* Record labor hours daily in an online corporate system.
* Travel up to 10%.
* Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
* High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
* 5+ years of related work experience with references.
* Must meet the requirements for an IAT Level II baseline certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+). A qualifying certification must be held at the time of hire.
* Must be a U.S. Citizen.
* Must possess and maintain a valid U.S. driver's license.
* Secret clearance is required with the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
* Successfully pass background and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications:
* Must meet the requirements for a DoD Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) Analyst certification. A qualifying certification must be held at the time of hire or obtained within six months. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
* Proficiency in Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) administration and scanning within DoD environments. (Completion of the ACAS Operator and Supervisor Course is highly preferred.
* Hands-on experience with Kibana workflows and navigating the Elastic stack for security data correlation.
* Working knowledge of both Linux and Windows environments, including secure configuration principles.
* Demonstrated experience supporting the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) lifecycle, including the creation of security artifacts and documentation of control implementation details.
* Solid understanding of Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and experience utilizing compliance assessment tools such as the Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) Compliance Checker and Radix.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate complex technical subject matter to management and non-technical audiences clearly.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the agility to learn new systems and operate effectively within emerging digital environments.
* Self-motivated team player with strong time management and prioritization skills. Capable of managing multiple tasks under time-sensitive constraints in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.
* Exceptional customer service skills, maintaining a professional demeanor, and demonstrating proper etiquette in all communications.
