Location: Wright-Patterson AFB
Duties DUTY 1 Performs Career Broadening assignments/duties by representing Acquisition Systems Engineering with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. DUTY 2 In a Career Broadening capacity, performs assignments involved in program development and evaluation. DUTY 3 In a Career Broadening capacity, performs assignments involving initiating and developing Air Force Policy and recommends approval and implementation. DUTY 4 Carries out special projects and assignments designed specifically to meet the broadening intent of the position.

* Position is designated Special Sensitive requiring eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other SSI information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP). Non-disclosure agreement is required.
* If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations. If receiving an authorized PCS, you may be subject to completing/signing a CONUS agreement. More information on PCS requirements, may be found at:
* PCS cost will be paid IAW Career Broadening Policy under this agreement.
* Career Broadening positions are managed by AFPC/DP2Z and are centrally funded.
* Positions are established specifically to provide developmental experience designed to broaden the skills and/or enhance the leadership perspective of a high-potential, mid-level manager.
* Career Broadening also provides training and developmental opportunities at various organizational levels.
* These assignments offer the qualified candidate a unique assignment in that the candidates brings certain experience to the assignment while gaining new experiences in a different work environment
* TEMPORARY PROMOTION:
If the position is filled as a temporary promotion, upon completion of the career broadening assignment, the temporary promotion may lead to permanent promotion without further competition
* This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
* Travel by regularly scheduled commercial or military conveyances IAW Joint Travel Regulations may be required in performance of TDY
* Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays
* Disclosure of Political Appointments
* This is an Acquisition Developmental Position and has been designated as a Systems Planning, Research, and Development and Engineering (SPRDE) Level III position in accordance with DoD 5000.58. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Professional and Scientific Positions. SPECIALIZED
EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-13, or equivalent in other pay systems that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to successfully perform the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. Examples of specialized experience include mastery knowledge of workings, characteristics and composition of major weapons systems and relationships to other weapons systems and concomitant military operations, strategies, tactics, and associated logistics to plan, analyze and evaluate engineering and technical efforts used to define total.
weapons/systems, identifying issues and develop policies to address the career assignments and development of the Air Force's total Scientist and Engineering workforce, planning and developing recommendations for Global International Standardization, and engineering expertise. To be creditable, the specialized experience must have been at the GS-13 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the federal service.
