Mission Technologies Division is actively searching for a highly skilled enterprise architect to support the ongoing mission of AFRL/IZX division. The enterprise architect (EA) plays a key role in structuring the enterprise in terms of its governance structure, business processes, and business information. This person aligns strategic goals and objectives with decisions regarding products and services; partners and suppliers; organization;
capabilities; and key business and IT initiatives. The primary focus is the mission/business motivations, mission/business operations and mission/business analysis frameworks and related networks that link these aspects of the enterprise together. The EA works to develop an integrated view of the enterprise using a repeatable approach, cohesive framework, and available industry standard techniques. The EA reports to the IZX Division Chief and Deputy Director and does require an on-site presence at WPAFB.
Level 3 salary range: $98,280-$182,520
Level 4 salary range: $116,771-$216,861
Essential job responsibilities:
- Architecture development:
Design, document, and maintain architecture roadmaps, models, and representations that align with organizational goals and strategies. - Cataloging and documentation:
Ensure comprehensive cataloging and documentation of architecture initiatives, capabilities, workflows, and standard components to support business and technology operations. - Compliance and governance:
Coordinate and enforce adherence to architectural standards, policies, and guidelines across the organization to ensure consistency and alignment. - Cross-functional collaboration:
Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze needs, and develop architectural solutions that drive organizational efficiency and innovation. - Communication and training:
Communicate architectural strategies, initiatives, and frameworks effectively to key stakeholders and provide training or guidance as necessary. - Framework maintenance:
Continuously maintain and refine architecture models, frameworks, and representations to adapt to evolving business and technology landscapes.
Skills and qualifications:
- A broad, enterprise-wide view of the business and varying degrees of appreciation for strategy, processes and capabilities, enabling technologies, and governance
- The ability to recognize structural issues within the organization, functional interdependencies and cross-silo redundancies
- The ability to assimilate and correlate disconnected documentation and drawings, and articulate their collective relevance to the organization and to high-priority business issues
- Experience using model-based representations that can be adjusted as required to collect, aggregate or disaggregate complex and conflicting information about the business
- The ability to visualize and create high-level models that can be used in future analysis to extend and mature the business architecture
- Extensive experience planning and deploying both business and IT initiatives
- Experience modeling business processes using a variety of tools and techniques
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to communicate appropriately at all levels of the organization; this includes written and verbal communications as well as visualizations
Minimum qualifications:
- Level 3: 5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
- Level 4: 9 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 7 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 4 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 13 years relevant experience.
Active TS/SCI clearance or ability to obtain one.
CompTIA Security + or CompTIA Network + or equivalent certifications desirable
Experience with DoDAF and TOGAF are highly desirable
