Technical Service Representative
The Technical Service Representative is responsible for managing day-to-day service needs for assigned customer accounts and territories. This role ensures effective product performance, supports customer operations, and delivers high-quality technical service through on-site support, troubleshooting, and training.
Key responsibilities include providing hands-on technical service and support for coatings and finishing processes, troubleshooting customer issues and delivering timely, effective solutions, conducting on-site product testing, refinement, and process improvement, training customer personnel on product use and application techniques, maintaining accurate documentation of service activities and process changes, performing process audits to ensure quality and consistency, staying current on product knowledge and industry trends, collaborating with internal teams to resolve complex technical challenges, representing the company professionally at customer sites, trade shows, and industry events, and providing regular updates and reports on service activities and performance.
Required qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, minimum of 1 year of finishing or related laboratory/formulation experience, valid driver's license and ability to travel frequently.
Preferred skills and abilities include strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to train and influence customer personnel, strong organizational and analytical abilities, self-motivated with a proactive, results-driven mindset, proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Physical and work requirements include the ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally, frequent standing, walking, bending, and travel to customer sites, and work performed in manufacturing environments with exposure to coatings and solvents (PPE provided).
