We are a well-established, small-town general practice law firm in Southeast Ohio seeking a motivated entry-level Associate Attorney to join our team. Our practice is community-focused and provides clients with practical, personalized legal representation across a broad range of legal matters.
This is an excellent opportunity for a newly licensed attorney who wants to develop a well-rounded general practice, gain meaningful courtroom and client experience, and build lasting relationships within a close-knit community.
Practice AreasOur firm handles matters involving:
- Real estate transactions and disputes
- Probate and estate administration
- Estate planning, wills, and trusts
- Civil litigation
- Business formation and general business matters
- Other general practice matters as they arise
The Associate Attorney will have the opportunity to work directly with clients and attorneys on a variety of matters, including:
- Conducting legal research and drafting legal documents, pleadings, motions, contracts, and correspondence
- Meeting with clients and assisting with client counseling
- Preparing and reviewing real estate documents and transactional materials
- Assisting with probate and estate administration
- Preparing wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and other estate-planning documents
- Assisting with business formations and related documentation
- Participating in civil litigation, including discovery, motion practice, hearings, and, as experience develops, trials
- Appearing in court and before administrative bodies as appropriate
- Communicating professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and other professionals
- Managing assigned files and meeting deadlines
- Developing practical legal solutions while maintaining a high level of professionalism and client service
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Admission to the Ohio Bar, or eligibility and intent to become licensed in Ohio
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while also being a collaborative member of a small team
- Professional judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to client service
- Willingness to learn and handle a broad variety of legal matters
This position is designed for an entry-level attorney, and newly licensed attorneys are encouraged to apply. Prior experience through law school clinics, internships, externships, clerkships, or prior legal employment is helpful but not required.
