Position Overview
The Group Logistics & Materials Management Lead is responsible for driving effective and efficient logistics and materials management across dormakaba globally through the development and implementation of best-in-class processes, capabilities, and solutions.
As a key member of the Global Supply Chain Leadership Team, this role provides strategic and functional leadership to all plant Supply Chain teams in the EURAF region and market Supply Chain teams globally, ensuring operational excellence, alignment, and continuous improvement across the network.
What you will do- Functional and strategic leadership for all inbound and outbound logistics operations globally, including road, sea, and air transportation, warehousing, and customs operations, while driving the development of best-in-class processes, capabilities, and solutions.
- Functional and strategic leadership for materials planning, inventory control, and inbound coordination, with a strong focus on operational excellence, process optimization, and capability development.
- Providing functional leadership and strategic direction to EURAF Plant Supply Chain teams.
- Steering and coordinating logistics and operations across Supply Chain teams in the Regional Market Organizations (Local Assembly or Distribution Centers).
- Building and managing strategic relationships with key logistics partners and material suppliers at Group level to drive performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide group-wide process and capability leadership for all transport and warehousing operations, as well as materials planning & inventory control.
- Drive the continuous development of logistics and materials management strategy, solutions, and capabilities.
- Lead logistics cost optimization and productivity initiatives while driving key operational improvement projects.
- Strengthen materials supply excellence and availability across the network and enhance overall supply chain resilience.
- Partner closely with Logistics Procurement on tenders, performance management, cost and productivity initiatives, and logistics make-or-buy decisions
- Collaborate with key logistics partners, material suppliers, and external logistics ecosystem stakeholders on strategic projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide functional leadership and strategic direction to EURAF Plant Supply Chain teams.
- Steer and coordinate logistics and materials operations across Supply Chain teams in Regional Market Organizations.
- Drive sustainability initiatives in logistics in line with dormakaba’s Operations and ESG agenda.
- Potentially assume operational responsibility for selective logistics sites, warehouses, and the teams managing them.
- Actively contribute within the Global Supply Chain Leadership Team to shape and drive the broader supply chain strategy, talent pipeline, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement.
- Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Materials Management, Operations, or a related field.
- Minimum 12–14 years of experience in logistics, materials management, and broader operational and transformational supply chain roles.
- Proven experience leading teams within complex, multicultural, and multi-country environments across Europe.
- Strong expertise in logistics and materials management solutions, including process optimization, digitalization, and analytics.
- Previous management experience at a global or regional supply chain level with both people and functional leadership responsibilities.
- Strong ability to deliver results in a matrix and network organization through influencing skills and expertise-based leadership.
- Excellent business acumen with a strong drive for performance, execution, and continuous improvement.
- Fluent English is required;
German will be considered a strong advantage
