DescriptionThe purchasing team in Siegen is a small, close‑knit group managing everything from domestic orders with short lead times to complex international imports. Following the group merger, processes are being rebuilt and a new forecasting system (Easystock) is being implemented. The team needs hands‑on support to keep the day‑to‑day running smoothly while that work happens.
You will work alongside Purchasing Managers on the full procurement cycle, from placing orders and chasing confirmations through to monitoring delivery dates and maintaining master data in the ERP system. You will be in regular contact with international suppliers in Europe and Asia, and will contribute to both the domestic and import sides of the operation.
Key Responsibilities- Calculating required quantities and placing purchase orders
- Matching and filing order confirmations, checking quantities, sizes and delivery dates
- Monitoring inbound deliveries and coordinating with suppliers to resolve issues
- Supporting goods import processes, including sea freight and air freight coordination
- Maintaining master data in the ERP system and creating new items
- Communicating with international vendors in English (Asia, Europe)
You have a grounding in purchasing or supply chain – whether through a completed commercial training (Kaufmännische Ausbildung), a relevant degree, or 1–3 years of practical experience in a purchasing or procurement role. International purchasing experience is a strong plus; if you have handled sea or air freight, import processes or international vendor management, that background will translate directly. You are organised, accurate and follow things through.
When a discrepancy appears on an order confirmation, you deal with it rather than leaving it. You communicate clearly in both German and English – both are essential in this role.
Strong fit if you have:
- Experience in purchasing, procurement or logistics (any physical goods industry)
- Familiarity with ERP systems and confident use of Excel
- Exposure to international purchasing or import processes
- Fluent written and spoken German and English
- A structured, careful working style – you spot errors before they become problems
- Flexibility and openness to stepping into a role where processes are still evolving
