Project Manager, Global Logistics
This position reports to the Senior Director, Global Distribution Logistics and is part of the Global Distribution Logistics team, located in the Chicago area, Illinois. It is an onsite role.
Responsibilities- Lead global logistics process improvement initiatives from planning through implementation, partnering with regional and functional stakeholders.
- Drive execution rigor across global teams and external logistics vendors through clear milestones, disciplined follow‑up, and timely escalation to ensure commitments are met.
- Coordinate internal working teams and external logistics partners to standardize logistics and distribution processes across regions and sites.
- Partner with logistics and business leaders to identify improvement opportunities, define success measures, and track progress against outcomes.
- Prepare concise project updates, dashboards, and recommendations for senior operations and supply chain leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in operations, engineering, business, or a related discipline with 5+ years of experience in logistics.
- Multiple years of project management experience supporting logistics, supply chain, or operations environments.
- Experience leading structured process improvement initiatives within logistics, distribution, or supply chain functions.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating work across global, cross‑functional teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency with project management and reporting tools and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with in medical devices, diagnostics, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to lean, Kaizen, or continuous improvement systems such as DBS or equivalent frameworks.
- Ability to travel – 25% including international travel.
Leica Biosystems offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives. The annual salary range for this role is $130,000 to $150,000.
