NPI/TPI Buyer
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a NPI/TPI Buyer.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the NPI/TPI Buyer role is responsible for leading procurement and supply chain activities related to New Product Introduction (NPI), Transfer Product Introduction (TPI), Engineering Changes (ECO), and End-of-Life (EOL) programs, ensuring material readiness, supplier performance, and successful product launches. This role works closely with cross-functional teams and suppliers to optimize cost, quality, delivery, and overall project execution while supporting customer requirements and business objectives.
What a typical day looks like:
- Ensuring availability of parts for new products according to the required quality, delivery, and cost.
- Scouting and supplier selection in line with divisional and local goals and policies.
- Achieving continuous improvement in quality, delivery and costs of all purchased components and sub-assemblies.
- Helping value engineering exercises to improve the value/cost ratios of all parts.
- Manage supplier relations.
- Arrange correct documentation to ensure release of new product at each relevant milestone of the new product project.
- Send out initial orders and requests for quotations (RFQ).
- Maintenance the purchase price in the system and work off price differences in Baan.
- Adjusting in time the correct purchase price in the system and keep traceability upon.
- Be a permanent member of the Project team and assure hold up for the Procurement, if needed.
- Evaluate supplier quotations and make agreements on pricing, delivery, quality, capacities, etc.
- Organize and monitor initial samples.
- Monitor and help the start-up phase of each new component or sub-assembly.
- Help and follow up production, corrective actions.
- In case of quality problems negotiation with the competent manager or department.
- Initiate required design modifications towards the Suppliers.
- Monitor the supply market in terms of technologies and costs.
- Keep connection with Suppliers.
- Continuously improve the quality, integral cost and delivery of all parts.
- Manage EOL parts with buyers.
- Looking for cost reduction possibilities, improve PPV.
- In charge of efficient communication flow about progress of every NPI/TPI/EOL/ECO related project within SC, CFT and with Customer (including Customer/Supplier visits/meetings and calls).
- Coordination and implementation of ECO changes within SC in accordance to Customer specific requirements, with strong focus on ECO related cost collection and reporting.
- Coordination transfers of new products in accordance with Customer specific requirements.
- Coordinating end-of-life process in accordance with Customer specific requirements (including minimizing obsolete, revaluation).
- Coordinating verification of new MPN/Supplier on production (First Article Inspection - FAI procedure).
- In charge of/Co-ordination of preparing material RFQ, as applicable, (Request for quotation for new Bill Of Material and for all new Engineering Change Order /ECO), reviews and analyses new offers from suppliers.
- Controlling AMLs and maintaining T&C for new items (collecting and maintaining data, solving discrepancies with Customer, requests for deviations to Customer etc.).
- Purchasing material status for prototypes/pilots.
- Managing changes in deliveries status according to accord rescheduling rules with Customer and negotiating minimized impact for Flex excess.
- Solving all material discrepancies related to parts delivered for prototypes/pilots with Customer.
- Should be able to read technical documentation (including 3D specifications).
- Should have sufficient knowledge about preferred suppliers in relevant commodities.

- New Product Introduction (Flex site is the receiving site and the product has not been manufactured elsewhere in volume yet). - TPI
- Transfer Product Introduction (Flex Site is either the receiving or transfer out site; and the product has been manufactured in Volume). - Monitoring of system accuracy in daily/weekly bases /General Item data/Item supplier information, Business Partner data, Data integrity, Data validation, System set up.
The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) and Transfer Product Introduction (TPI) processes within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience in supplier management, including supplier coordination, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
- Experience working with Cross-Functional Teams (CFTs), collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program Management teams.
- Ability to support product launches, production transfers, and ramp-up activities while ensuring project milestones are achieved.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and project coordination skills.
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
