This role is responsible for creating planning discipline across the manufacturing network by connecting SIOP outputs, demonstrated plant capacity, material availability, customer priorities, and production constraints into one executable network plan. This role functions as a control tower for manufacturing planning, providing enterprise visibility to demand, supply, capacity, constraints, and schedule risk across the full manufacturing footprint.

This position converts demand signals, customer priorities, and site capacity into a synchronized network MPS that supports customer service, plant stability, and efficient use of manufacturing resources. The Master Planner will work directly with plant schedulers, operations leaders, materials teams, customer service, logistics, finance, and commercial partners to ensure the right work is planned at the right site at the right time.

The role requires a strong network mindset and disciplined SIOP operating cadence. The Master Planner must evaluate total manufacturing capability across all sites - not just individual plant capacity - to determine the most efficient use of the network, reduce bottlenecks, minimize unnecessary overtime, improve schedule adherence, and proactively escalate risks that could impact customer delivery or operational performance.

Core Responsibilities

Network-Level MPS Ownership

• Own, maintain, and govern the network-level Master Production Schedule across all manufacturing plants
• Translate demand, customer priorities, inventory needs, and operational constraints into a synchronized and executable MPS
• Ensure plant-level schedules align to the broader network plan, capacity outlook, and customer service commitments
• Monitor schedule changes, demand shifts, backlog, capacity gaps, and service risks across the manufacturing footprint
• Provide a clear planning view of what needs to run, where it should run, and when it must be completed to support customer commitments
• Executes planning discipline through the ASD Lean Operating System, including Tiered Management, visual controls, PDCA problem solving, and SPDCC escalation

SIOP Planning & Demand-to-Supply Alignment

• Serve as the point person for SIOP planning inputs related to network capacity, production requirements, backlog, inventory, and supply constraints
• Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Finance, Materials, and Operations to align demand expectations with practical manufacturing capability
• Convert SIOP outputs into actionable MPS plans, plant requirements, and escalation items
• Identify gaps between demand and capacity early enough to support corrective action, scenario planning, and leadership decision-making
• Drive planning discipline through standard cadence, data visibility, and clear follow-up on open SIOP actions

Manufacturing Footprint & Capacity Optimization

• Evaluate manufacturing capacity across all sites to determine the most efficient location to run demand.
• Identify opportunities to level-load volume across the network, balance constraints, reduce bottlenecks, and improve throughput
• Recommend order placement or production shifts based on capacity, labor, materials, lead time, cost, service impact, and plant feasibility
• Monitor labor utilization and overtime exposure, helping the business meet demand with the least practical overtime required
• Support make-versus-shift, surge, recovery, and constraint scenarios that protect customer delivery while improving network efficiency

Control Tower Visibility & Risk Management

• Operate as the planning control tower for manufacturing execution by consolidating data from demand, capacity, inventory, backlog, and plant schedules
• Create visibility to critical constraints, overdue demand, capacity overloads, schedule misses, and customer risk
• Build and maintain planning dashboards, trackers, and review cadences that clearly show red/yellow/green status across sites
• Escalate risks with clear problem statements, customer impact, root cause, countermeasure, owner, and due date
• Ensure leadership has timely visibility to trade-offs, capacity decisions, and schedule risks requiring action
