Successful, privately-held manufacturer is seeking a Strategic Buyer to be responsible for sourcing, analytics, inventory, cycle counts, and procurement for a fast-paced manufacturer. As the Strategic Buyer, you will report to a Director and will work closely with one other buyer. Daily you will be responsible for the following tasks:
Strategic Sourcing & Market Analysis- Analyze purchasing forecasts, supplier quotes, and market trends to optimize inventory control and negotiate total value across cost, quality, and lead times.
- Conduct supplier performance reviews, risk assessments, and audits to build a resilient supply chain.
- Proactively identify and qualify secondary supply sources and contingency plans for high-risk materials.
- Convert approved requisitions into Purchase Orders (POs) and manage the RFQ process in strict compliance with internal controls and ethical standards.
- Reconcile supplier invoices against POs to resolve pricing or quantity discrepancies prior to payment.
- Maintain clean, organized, and audit-ready records for all procurement activities.
- Inventory Control & Hands-On Operations:
Perform cycle counts, support physical inventory reconciliations, and coordinate intercompany transfers and outside repairs alongside plant teams. - Buyer Cross-Training:
Partner and cross-train with the other buyer to ensure seamless coverage across all commodities and operational continuity. - Operational Agility:
Step in to assist with travel arrangements, administrative tasks, or other operational needs as required.
This is a fast-paced position that requires qualified candidates to wear multiple hats and be able to support a collaborative, team-oriented working culture. Individuals should be able to learn new tasks and commodities quickly, be able to handle changing priorities and enjoy supporting the manufacturing site.

- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred; experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
- Depending on level of education, at least 2-3 years in a similar fast-paced, strategic buyer position
- Experience purchasing direct materials for production; additional MRO procurement would be ideal
- Experience with inventory and cycle counts
- Experience sourcing new vendors
- ERP experience
- Microsoft Excel experience, including charts, graphs, formulas, and macros
- APICS certification
- Experience working for privately held organizations
- Updated office environment where you can wear jeans daily

Candidates are preferred to be local to the Bellevue, OH area. There is not a relocation package available for this position.
