Step 0: $21.19 per hour (260 × 8 hr × $21.19 = $44,075.20, prorated based on start date)

10 days vacation after one full year

Position Goal: Provide a safe, clean, and healthy environment for children and staff at the building level; maintain housekeeping, building security, and preventive maintenance programs.

• Maintain buildings in a clean, attractive, healthy, and safe condition.
• Clean and maintain assigned building space and assist in other spaces when needed.
• Perform minor repairs and report needed repairs to the maintenance supervisor.
li>Properly clean all floor surfaces (sweep, scrub, mop, buff).
• Dust equipment, woodwork, and trim; keep restrooms thoroughly clean and sanitary.
• Replenish supplies and clean waste receptacles.
• Wash windows and walls; assist in moving and arranging furniture.
• Dispose of all trash according to building procedures.
• Provide front sidewalk and walkway snow removal.
• Monitor and enforce energy‑saving policies for the building and district.
• Clean range hood filters every 2–4 weeks.
• Check exit lamps, fire extinguishers, and heating equipment per schedule.
• In emergencies, perform tasks assigned by the immediate supervisor.
• Assist with assembly and program set‑up and clean‑up.
• Complete all summer work on time.
• Disinfect areas as directed.

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED).
• Ability to understand and follow instructions; basic math and writing skills; email and computer skills.
• Capability to give instructions and lead others.
• Physically capable of walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, crouching, crawling, lifting,, and using hands and tools.
• Strong personal and physical qualities (e.g., reliability, honesty, punctuality, neat appearance, positive attitude).
• Professional human relations skills, confidentiality, conflict management, teamwork, courtesy to students and parents, and proper communication of concerns.
• Strong initiative to identify and act on areas of need; effective time management.
• Adaptability to change and acceptance of constructive suggestions.

Twelve (12) month contract or Nine (9) month contract.
Eight (8) hours per day with 30‑minute unpaid lunch.

Reports to the Building Principal; when the Principal is absent, the Custodial Supervisor becomes the immediate supervisor.
