Salary: $29.70—$34.65 per hour.

Purpose of the Position

To perform service (preventive maintenance, safety checks, corrective actions, upgrades and refurbishment) on equipment at assigned Hiab locations in line with manager’s instructions. Responsible for contributing to productive customer relationships and following best practice in all administrative and technical activities.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Technical and Product Knowledge:
    • Stay up‑to‑date with technical developments and complete technical courses when instructed.
    • Keep updated on technical specifications of relevant equipment.
  • Managing the Customer:
    • Respond to customers per District Service Manager to maximize satisfaction.
    • Follow Hiab customer satisfaction guidelines.
  • Risk Management:
    • Protect self and others.
    • Follow safety rules, working practices and environmental requirements.
    • Alert District Service Manager if equipment safety is jeopardized.
    • Respect and protect Hiab and third‑party property.
  • Service Process:
    • Inspect, troubleshoot, report, plan and conduct service or repair.
    • Submit regular reports in the specified format.
    • Maintain adequate records and documentation per standards.
  • Commercial Awareness and Cost Effectiveness:
    • Plan and manage time and resources for maximum benefit.
    • Make cost‑effective and efficient decisions.
    • Maintain documentation for accurate invoicing.
    • Protect spare‑parts traceability.
  • New Business Opportunities:
    • Recognize sales opportunities and communicate to District Service Manager.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Provide feedback to support continuous quality improvement.
    • Participate in innovative thinking.
    • Coach/tutor junior colleagues and trainees.
    • Act in a way that promotes a positive brand image and follows the quality system.
    • Other duties as assigned.
Accountabilities
  • Obtain and maintain a 1‑year DOT Medical Card.
  • Mobile, adaptable and able to work in variable physical site conditions.
  • Qualification from higher vocational school (below graduate/BSc) in mechanical engineering, hydraulics, electrics, electronics or equivalent.
  • Working technical knowledge related to all Hiab product lines.
  • Working knowledge of diesel engines and hydraulic drive systems.
  • Fluent in local language and working knowledge of English.
  • Operators licenses for all equipment used.
  • Maintain records in compliance with agreements.
  • Know and comply with Hiab USA operating and technical procedures.
  • Understand and comply with safety and environmental requirements.
  • Own required tools.
Education

Minimal High School diploma/GED required. Technical or secondary college preferred.

Working Experience

3+ years of mechanical, hydraulic, or electrical operations preferred.
