The Control Technician configures, tests, maintains and repairs airport ground equipment’s systems to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operations.
WHAT IT’S LIKE TO WORK AS A CONTROL TECHNICIAN- Install and configure control systems, including sensors, valves, relays, PLCs, and instrumentation on aviation fuel trucks.
- Calibrate electrical and hydraulic components to meet performance specifications.
- Test functionality of fuel management systems, including safety shutdowns, alarms, and interlocks.
- Diagnose and repair faults in wiring, circuits, and fluid control systems.
- Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and engineering drawings to ensure proper installation and compliance.
- Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and quality teams to resolve technical issues and verify system performance.
- Complete quality assurance and compliance documentation for each unit.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and adhere to lean manufacturing principles.
- Follow safety guidelines and industry regulations (e.g., DOT, FAA, NFPA) related to fuel handling and control systems.
- Exemplify Prime Flight customer service and safety standards.

- 18 years of age or older.
- Eligible to work in the United States.
- Must have a valid state‑issued driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification in electrical, electronics, or mechanical systems preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in control systems, electrical troubleshooting, or hydraulic systems, ideally in a vehicle or equipment manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in reading wiring diagrams, schematics, and hydraulic flow charts.
- Strong understanding of control logic, pressure regulation, and safety systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools, multimeters, and calibration equipment.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including use of electronic devices such as iPads/Tablets, computers, and mobile devices.
- Effectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in person and through electronic means.
- Pass a background check and drug screen.
- Eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal‑as applicable).
- Airlines are 24/7, so flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays is required.
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds.
- Prolonged standing and walking in an indoor/outdoor environment as applicable.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
- Regular exposure to mechanical equipment, moving parts, and fuel system components.
- Hands‑on work in a manufacturing or shop environment.
- May need to reach with arms and grasp with hands.
- May need to push, pull.
- May need to crawl and crouch, at times, in confined tight spaces.
- May need to bend, stretch, squat, kneel.
- May need to climb and work at elevated heights.
- Exposure to moderate and at times high noise levels.
- Exposure to biohazards and/or chemicals.
- Exposure to outdoor elements.
- Be able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms.
