The Auto Dismantler is a full-time, on-site role located in Mansfield, Ohio. This role is responsible for safely dismantling vehicles, removing usable parts, and preparing components for resale or recycling according to company standards. Daily tasks include identifying parts, using hand and power tools, draining fluids, organizing removed components, and maintaining a clean and safe work area. The Auto Dismantler will follow written and verbal instructions, document parts and inventory information, and work closely with teammates and supervisors to meet productivity and quality goals.
The role also involves adhering to safety protocols, handling heavy materials, and performing basic inspections on vehicles and parts as needed.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and basic shop equipment for automotive dismantling and repair tasks.
- Mechanical aptitude, including basic understanding of vehicle components, systems, and how parts are removed and installed.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for labeling, sorting, and tracking parts and inventory.
- Physical ability to lift, move, and handle heavy parts and materials, and to work in varying weather and shop conditions.
- Commitment to safety practices, including proper handling of automotive fluids, tools, and equipment.
- Effective communication skills and willingness to collaborate with team members and supervisors.
- Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to follow instructions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
- Previous experience in auto dismantling, auto repair, salvage, or related automotive work is preferred but not required.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred; relevant on-the-job experience or training will also be considered.
