Role Summary

We are seeking a Maintenance Supervisor responsible for leading and coordinating maintenance activities on all shifts to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant assets. This role focuses on driving compliance with Perrigo Work Standards (PWS), optimizing preventive and predictive maintenance programs, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and reliability.

Responsibilities
  • Full accountability for team member safety, including proactive hazard identification and corrective action.
  • Ensure strict adherence to cGMPs, FDA requirements, food safety, and quality standards.
  • Maintain process parameters within established specifications and ensure product quality expectations and appropriately upscale if and when those cannot be met.
  • Lead and support deviation investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
  • Lead manufacturing maintenance practices to achieve safety, quality, operational excellence, and people targets.
  • Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Provide work direction and oversight across the department.
  • Serve as the escalation point for maintenance issues.
  • Coordinate activities across departments, including Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
  • Directly supervise maintenance personnel and team leader; provide coaching, feedback, and performance management.
  • Support onboarding, training, and development of maintenance team members.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement. Must be able to communicate effectively (both verbally and written), motivate and supervise others, handle diverse and multiple assignments, and work with minimal supervision.
  • This role focuses on driving compliance with Perrigo Work Standards (PWS), which includes optimizing preventive and predictive maintenance programs and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and reliability.
  • Use root cause analysis to determine corrective actions for equipment failures.
  • Lead and support maintenance improvement initiatives focused on productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
  • Lead or co-lead site projects, including equipment trials, process improvements, and standardization efforts.
  • Support implementation of new processes, equipment, and systems.
  • Identify and eliminate waste using Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
Qualifications
  • Hands-on experience as a working supervisor/foreman in an FDA-regulated facility.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in GMP-related Food/Pharmaceutical Manufacturing.
  • Journeyman certification preferred and/or willing to participate in an Apprenticeship program.
  • Knowledge of contractual procedures, bidding documents, and purchasing is beneficial.
  • Experience with repairs and maintenance of processing, process utility and building utility equipment – mechanical, plumbing, light electrical and instrumentation.
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Control-based control systems is desired.
  • Ability to read and understand process flow diagrams, process, instrumentation, piping, mechanical, and structural drawings.
  • Must have general knowledge and skills in computer-based applications and functions such as MS Office, Teams, etc.
  • Experience in Asset Reliability and predictive maintenance methodologies and technologies is highly desirable.
  • Must be able to work effectively with a computerized maintenance management system. Experience in using SAP would be considered a major asset.
Education
  • Associate Degree in Engineering preferred/related discipline or minimum of 4 years of leadership experience in maintenance and/or seven to ten years’ experience in a plant maintenance function with supervisory experience required.
Skills
  • Strong communication and leadership capabilities, including the ability to motivate and supervise others.
  • Problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of maintenance practices and reliability concepts; experience with Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and SAP.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and collaboration tools (e.g., Teams).
