Part of a large Industrial Group (5 000 employees and 1.2 billion turnover), the Managing Director leads an entity of 10 people and 8M€ of sales.

This is a vacancy for the French branch of a German group -LOCATION : GERMANY - NEAR TRIER

Tasks related to the post - Fields of activity and level of responsibilities:

The MD represents the BU and the Group within the entity. He or she supports, deploys and enforces Group policies and standards, guarantees compliance with Group rules as well as local laws and regulations, and ensures that the interests of the Group take precedence over local interests. The MD represents the Group before the community, including neighbourhood stakeholders, administrations, professional networks and political representatives, while protecting and developing the Company’s reputation.

He or she ensures the existence of a Sustainability roadmap aligned with the Group’s ambitions.

The MD deploys the corporate strategy in the Country. He or she understands and implements the Group strategy locally, establishing a country-level deployment plan with aligned indicators and follow-up mechanisms consistent with Group key objectives. The MD ensures that the Group maintains or develops its market share in line with strategic guidelines. He or she identifies and manages relevant stakeholders, builds strong relationships with customers, policymakers, decision-makers and key partners, secures membership in local industry associations and alliances, and actively animates these networks.

The MD ensures the Company’s visibility at fairs, seminars and industry events, and guarantees that the Company profile is optimized to meet local market needs. He or she deploys the Group communication strategy by identifying target audiences, initiating new contacts and engaging key stakeholders. The MD also ensures that sufficient capacity is available to execute the strategy effectively.

The MD advocates for customer satisfaction. He or she leads the business and drives teams to achieve flawless quality standards and strict adherence to committed timelines. The MD cultivates relationships of trust with customers and fosters a strong culture of customer centricity within the teams. He or she ensures that claims are handled diligently and with the highest level of professionalism.

The MD is accountable for risk management. He or she ensures the safety of all teams within the Country, guarantees business continuity through proper risk analysis and mitigation planning, and ensures that crisis management protocols are established, acting as leader of the crisis cell when required. The MD also ensures that Company assets, including machines, buildings and land, are properly maintained and kept in good condition.

The MD is accountable for performance and progress. He or she is responsible for achieving all business performance targets defined with BU and Group management. The MD ensures that performance is measured, tracked, reported and analysed at the appropriate level of detail, with deviations identified and corrected proactively. Beyond operational execution, the MD ensures the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives covering all dimensions of performance.

The MD acts as a role model in people leadership and development. He or she embodies the Group’s leadership principles and corporate culture, and is accountable for employee engagement by fostering a high-quality work environment grounded in psychological safety and shared values. The MD builds collective commitment toward operational objectives, develops both teams and individuals, and strengthens managerial capabilities. He or she identifies key competencies required for business development, monitors development and succession plans, and promotes a culture of continuous learning, including regular return-on-experience practices and benchmarking, both internal and external.
