Marsh Berry is growing! We are seeking a Director, Valuation to join our team. We have a people first culture with ample growth opportunities.

Position Summary

The Director will lead the growth and execution of Marsh Berry’s valuation services. They will generate and execute valuation and consulting engagements through the entire life cycle, establish guidelines, procedures and quality control measures, serve as a technical resource and mentor, provide training, and build enduring relationships with clients to drive growth. The Director will be responsible for strategic decision making and driving practice growth or other metrics.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the valuation team in completing valuations including ESOPs, identifiable intangible assets, personal goodwill, and other unique valuation situations, including perpetuation planning and gift and estate planning.
  • Generate and execute large and complex valuation and consulting projects through the entire life cycle, interfacing with clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide day-to-day direction, training, guidance and review of consultants’ valuation projects.
  • Develop and maintain valuation templates and models.
  • Establish guidelines, procedures and quality control measures to ensure accuracy, consistency and client satisfaction; communicate them effectively to those handling valuations.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key clients and prospects; identify opportunities to bring in other Marsh Berry consultants for additional client needs.
  • Drive new business through engagement with prospective clients throughout the sales cycle.
  • Recognize opportunities for growth and implement strategies that enhance client satisfaction, market share, revenue growth and profitability; fully develop and utilize the company’s capabilities and position the company as a strategic partner.
  • Develop and manage the team through feedback, monitoring progress, identifying training and resource needs, and completing performance management reviews for direct reports.
  • Collaborate with other valuation groups within the Lincoln International organization to optimize cross-practice knowledge sharing.
  • Stay abreast of valuation and industry trends and incorporate best practices in the development of services, quality standards, policies and programs.
  • Facilitate presentations and publish articles on timely valuation topics affecting clients.
  • Collaborate with marketing and other teams across the organization to create external marketing collateral, further develop capabilities and service delivery.
  • Any other special projects, tasks and duties as assigned.
Selection Criteria Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Management;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • Additional professional designations or certifications desired, such as CPA, CVA/AVA, ABV or ASA.
  • 10–15+ years of leadership with related experience in valuation, consulting or financial services.
  • Familiarity with relevant valuation standards (Fair Value, Fair Market Value) and IRS/industry guidelines (e.g., AICPA); international experience is a plus.
  • Proven experience in managing work teams to achieve and exceed goals and objectives.

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time, including overnight and limited weekend travel.
