The Lab Technician will support research, development, testing, and quality activities related to chemical formulations and materials. This role plays a key part in ensuring products meet internal specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a laboratory environment supporting both development and production.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct routine and non-routine laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Prepare chemical solutions, formulations, and test samples according to established procedures.
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment such as balances, pH meters, viscometers, ovens, and mixers.
- Accurately document test methods, results, and observations in lab notebooks or electronic systems.
- Assist with formulation trials, performance testing, and evaluation of material properties (e.g., adhesion, conductivity, curing behavior).
- Support quality control activities to ensure compliance with internal specifications and quality standards.
- Follow all laboratory safety, environmental, and chemical handling procedures.
- Collaborate with R&D, quality, and production teams to investigate issues and support process improvements.
- Maintain laboratory organization, inventory, and chemical supplies.
Required:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent laboratory experience).
- Hands‑on laboratory experience in chemical testing, formulation, or materials evaluation.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety practices and proper PPE usage.
- Experience working with adhesives, coatings, polymers, or specialty chemical products.
- Exposure to analytical techniques or equipment such as FTIR, DSC, rheology, or similar.
- Familiarity with quality systems (ISO or similar).
- Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
