Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Operations Engineer
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will oversee the 2nd‑shift Maintenance team and ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of plant equipment and facilities. You will support Environmental Health and Safety and Food Safety & Quality Risk Assessment standards, manage preventive maintenance programs, and partner with Operations and other teams to reduce downtime, strengthen equipment reliability, and enhance overall production performance.
ATaste of Your Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, train, and develop Maintenance Technicians to achieve department goals.
- Promote and co-manage safety initiatives within the Maintenance Department.
- Promote and co-manage Food Safety, FSQRA, and Good Manufacturing Practice requirements.
- Understand and manage the maintenance operating budget.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations and operating permits.
- Oversee maintenance activities and confirm timely, high‑quality completion.
- Manage contracted maintenance services as required.
- Maintain MRO storeroom materials and parts in alignment with standards.
- Review completed work orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Review and TECO work orders in SAP following Conagra SAP standards.
- Implement and sustain 5S practices to maintain organized and clean maintenance areas.
- Monitor and report maintenance metrics.
- Lead or participate in equipment failure root‑cause analysis.
- Lead or participate in preventive maintenance procedure development and improvement.
- Identify priority maintenance losses and develop action plans to eliminate them.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve equipment reliability and drive continuous improvement.
- Supervisor functions may include weekend rotation, provide absence coverage, ensure standard work process adherence.
- Supervisor will be responsible for providing direct oversight, administering discipline and ensuring consistent application of policies and procedures across their respective teams.
- High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field preferred.
- Three to five years of maintenance experience preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience required.
- Proficient in computer systems and maintenance software; CAD/drafting experience desirable.
- Skilled in reading and interpreting safety rules, diagrams, blueprints, schematics, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Skilled in writing routine reports and presenting to groups of employees or customers.
- Skilled in performing calculations and applying basic algebra and geometry.
- Skilled in solving practical problems where limited standardization exists.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and electrical/electronic principles.

Pay Range: $63,000 - $93,000
The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity. Conagra Brands will comply with applicable law regarding minimum salaries for exempt employees.
