Our Fort Recovery Feed & Animal Division in Mercer and Darke counties, in Ohio, produces and delivers feed while providing support to our contract farmers raising animals for production.
Cooper Farms is currently seeking a 3rd shift Sanitation Supervisor to join our team in Fort Recovery.
The primary goal of this position is to oversee sanitation operations within the Spring Meadows Plant. This position will bring leadership to our team members and will instill accountability and commitment to meeting the business goals established. This position will manage in a manner that supports the Cooper Values and commitment to the welfare, safety and morale of all SMF team members.
SHIFT HOURS: Monday through Friday (3rd shift) - Salary
STARTING RATE: Commensurate with experience
ADDITIONAL PAY: Monthly and year-end profit-sharing bonuses (dependent upon company performance)
Job Functions:
- Direct and manage sanitation operations within SMF facility. Work with and support: production, maintenance, quality and other departments in the facility
- Develop and train team members on all necessary sanitation SOPs
- Coordinate shift activities through effective planning with departmental managers to ensure production objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Implement cost effective systems of control over operating expenses, labor costs and other related expenses
- Establish and monitor plant performance for production, food safety and quality standards
- Maintain existing plant facility and equipment; replace or adjust plant facilities and equipment when necessary
- Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives
- Provide leadership that develops and promotes a safe work environment for all team members
- Demonstrates an active interest in producing quality products/services
- Responsible for the oversight of documentation and completion of daily, weekly, and monthly scheduled cleaning relating to the facility cleanliness and chemical titrations
- Responsible for the proper handling and usage of chemical and cleaning procedures as written in SMF Products policies and the sanitation manual
- Responsible for the proper labeling, mixing, and handling of cleaning chemicals
- Responsible for meeting all USDA sanitation standards
- At least 3 years' experience with Cooper Farms or similar operation in various fields including sanitation, production, sales, logistics, etc.
- An associate degree in a business-related field is preferred but will be waived for appropriate business experience.
- This position requires strong leadership skills, excellent math skills, excellent oral and written communication and basic computer knowledge.
- Sounds reasoning skills and problem-solving aptitude is also vital.
- The ability to coach and mentor growing personnel is critical to this position
