JOB SUMMARY:
The Quality Assurance Technician is a critical member of the manufacturing team responsible for ensuring the consistent quality of concrete paving stones and retaining wall products. This role supports production and packaging operations by performing quality checks, in-process QA testing, analyzing materials, and maintaining compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The technician collaborates closely with plant personnel to drive continuous improvement and uphold Unilock's commitment to excellence.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Perform routine quality assurance tests to verify product specifications and standards.
* Inspect raw materials and finished goods for compliance with quality requirements.
* Document and escalate all products or processes non-conformance immediately to the Press Operator, Plant Supervisor, and Plant/QA Manager to ensure timely corrective action.
* Enter test results into ROO.AI software following each completed test.
* Partner with operators and supervisors to identify and implement process improvements.
* Lead Quality Daily Management (DMM) meetings and report prior-day performance metrics.
* Actively participate in team discussions focused on enhancing product quality and operational efficiency.
* Apply a continuous improvement mindset to identify and support initiatives that optimize production processes.
* Conduct weekly 5S audits to maintain workplace organization and safety.
* Support and contribute to ongoing continuous improvement projects.
* Perform additional duties and special assignments as directed by management.
* Ensure full compliance with Unilock's safety, health, and environmental requirements during all QA activities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
* Must be able to read and write in English.
* Ability to perform repetitive tasks and work with hands/arms at or above shoulder level.
* Visual acuity to distinguish colors and color blends accurately.
* Basic proficiency in using tablets and digital tools for data entry.
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
* Physical capability to stand, stoop, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs.
* Willingness to learn-no prior QA experience required; training provided.
