Head Of Roasting

An opportunity to take the role of Head Roaster at THE BARN. This is a hands‑on role with production roasting, profiling, cuppings & quality control, involvement in green sourcing & grading. Working on two retro‑style Probat machines (UG22, G45). Managing international team of production assistants, packers and dispatch team. Floor responsibility is in your hands.

This job is physical and it requires getting up early on weekdays. You are responsible to keep a clean food safety environment, roast consistency, protocols and reporting. Competitive payment with bonus possibility. This is a long‑term role - minimum 2 years.

• 2-5 years experience in roasting speciality coffee
• Green grading and Quality Control / Production Cupping
• Sample Roasting on Ikawa
• Experience in managing people
• Attention to detail and working calmly under time pressure
• Working with deadlines in fulfilment and with efficiency KPIs in mind

• Working with fantastic Single Origin Coffees
• Rotating Coffee Portfolio (25 coffees at a time, in rotation)
