Maintenance Cost Optimization Manager

Your responsibilities include executing productivity projects, maintaining quality, optimizing maintenance expenditures, and building capability.
Job Responsibilities- Implement maintenance cost optimization initiatives
- Reduce maintenance costs across Danone North America
- Participate with Engineering on capital projects and innovation to ensure maintenance cost efficiency
- Lead best‑practice identification and deployment across the manufacturing network
- Drive reduction of maintenance costs through supplier management, sourcing strategies, and partner collaboration
- Benchmark maintenance best practices and drive standardized implementation
- Partner with relevant functions to ensure maintenance cost optimization
- Review and implement reverse engineering opportunities and alternative strategies to reduce maintenance repair parts inventory and spend
- Implement standardized storeroom best practices and a regional approach to spare parts to reduce inventory and improve availability
- Support development and implementation of a technical training center for capability building
- Provide local support in the implementation of Infosys as an external partner to standardize purchasing practices and reduce overall maintenance spend
- Ensure MVP is optimized to minimize excess spare parts inventory
- Assist manufacturing plants in the development of annual maintenance budgets and forecast updates
- Standardize PM plans and execution across similar technologies and platforms in the organization
- Provide support to manufacturing sites to enable sustainable execution of maintenance initiatives
- Develop and review scorecard and metrics on PM execution
Salary range: $105,000 – $140,000 USD. Salary may vary based on experience, location, equity, and market conditions. The role includes a performance‑based bonus and a comprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, 401(k) plan, wellness program, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, flexible time off, and paid parental bonding leave. The position is hybrid – employees work from the office at least 3 days per week and may work from home on a schedule agreed with the supervisor.
Travel may be up to 50% based on location.
- Experience in maintenance, procurement, and manufacturing environments
- Bachelor of Science in engineering, packaging science, or related technical field; advanced degree preferred
- 10+ years of experience in manufacturing operations or engineering roles within a CPG food and beverage environment
- Proven success in implementing programs across multi‑site operations
Skills and Abilities
- Solid technical background with extensive corporate and plant experience
- Knowledge of dairy processing, batching, and packaging lines
- Experience with TPM, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing
- Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, and SAP
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with ability to influence across functions
- Ability to manage divergent opinions within project teams and external resources
- Data‑driven, results‑oriented mindset with strong financial acumen related to maintenance cost and inventory optimization
