Location: Fostoria

As the Shift Supervisor, you oversee the daily activities of safety, quality, and production procedures and lead employees in all aspects of production during the shift.

As a mentor to front‑line operators, you nurture talent by working with contractors and ADM colleagues to ensure they receive the training and resources necessary to operate safely and effectively.

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily operations performed by hourly production colleagues to ensure work is performed safely and efficiently while meeting expected environmental, quality, housekeeping, and quantity levels established by the company.
  • Provide employees with resources and training needed to safely operate or wear personal protective equipment.
  • Assign work to shift personnel based on experience, training, and ability.
  • Ensure the safety of all colleagues through compliance with occupational safety, health, and environmental regulations and by leading by example.
  • Identify environmental, safety, and GMP hazards, discuss and contain them to protect colleague safety, product quality, and environmental purity, and recommend improvements. Conduct GMP, safety, health, and environmental inspections.
  • Listen to and respond to colleague suggestions and concerns about safety, health, environment, product quality, and housekeeping, and communicate concerns and improvement initiatives to all colleagues.
  • Address employee concerns, maintain good communication, and promote morale on shift and within the department while keeping plant management informed of all matters affecting morale and safety.
  • Identify training needs, discuss them with the Production Superintendent, develop a training plan, and work with colleagues to achieve high job proficiency. Provide positive reinforcement for good performance.
  • Evaluate colleague performance, provide regular feedback, and discuss disciplinary action with superintendents and human resources.
  • Attend and participate in area meetings, safety meetings, and supervisor meetings, and evaluate management programs.
  • Analyze safety incidents, prepare Incident Analysis within 24 hours of the incident, and propose improvements.
  • Perform production duties temporarily in case of emergency or employee absence.
  • Perform reasonably similar or related duties as required.
Job Requirements
  • Previous plant processing and leadership experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to lead and train colleagues and build teams.
  • Ability to analyze information quickly to provide feedback in the manufacturing process and troubleshoot equipment failures.
  • Strong communication, organizational, troubleshooting, and record‑keeping skills.
  • Passion for learning; willingness to assume new responsibilities.
  • Ability to work a rotating shift including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Physical ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods; lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly; work in confined spaces and from heights; wear a respirator.
