Maintenance Technician - 32/hr - 1st Shift
-Direct Placement - Climate Controlled
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair food production equipment, including slicers, ovens, grinders, chillers, coolers, conveyors, and boxing machines.
- Perform both reactive and preventive maintenance, with responsibilities split approximately 50/50 between planned and unplanned work on 1st and 2nd shifts.
- Diagnose and repair electrical systems, including 480V motors, PLC-controlled equipment, and 24–120V photoeyes and sensors.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical components and assemblies to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
- Perform hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repairs on production equipment.
- Use electrical and mechanical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation to identify issues and determine appropriate repairs.
- Inspect equipment regularly to identify potential issues and complete preventive maintenance tasks to reduce downtime.
- Work with conveyors, refrigeration units, ovens, flame broilers, and grinders to ensure consistent performance and product quality.
- Support production teams by responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and working to minimize production interruptions.
- Document maintenance activities and communicate equipment status and issues to appropriate team members.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience troubleshooting and repairing 480V electrical systems and equipment.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair food production equipment such as slicers, ovens, grinders, and conveyors.
- Experience working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting and repair.
- Familiarity with PLC troubleshooting and repair in an industrial setting.
- Ability to work with 24–120V photoeyes, sensors, and related control components.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Experience with industrial maintenance in a production environment, including both reactive and preventive maintenance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience repairing food processing equipment is highly desirable.
- Hands‑on experience with refrigeration systems such as chillers, coolers, and large storage room refrigerators.
- Exposure to robotics or automated boxing equipment is a plus.
- Comfort working with equipment powered by 480V motors across a variety of applications.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a maintenance team.
- Effective communication skills to coordinate with production and other departments.

Work Environment
The facility is clean, organized, and climate controlled, providing a comfortable and professional work setting. The production area can feel a bit chilly, while the storage area is very cold, though maintenance work there is limited. Equipment includes numerous conveyor belts, large refrigeration units for storage and flash freezing, chillers and coolers, ovens and a flame broiler, grinders, and boxing machines with robotics, all primarily powered by 480V motors.
The standard 1st shift runs from 5:30 AM to 2:00 PM, Monday through Friday, aligned with the production schedule. Overtime is limited and typically only occurs on Saturdays when necessary. Face coverings are required, and no jewelry is allowed on the production floor to maintain safety and hygiene standards.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $62400.00 - $62400.00/yr. This company offers medical, dental, vison and 401k.
