Floor Assembler Job Summary
Floor Assembler assembles fabricated parts, components, or units at floor stations and tests and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications.
Performs assembly using hand tools and power tools in accordance with product specifications.
Responsibilities & Duties- Prepares work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathers parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials; positions parts and subassemblies using templates or reading measurements; assembles components, ensuring correct fit and fastening; verifies specifications by measuring completed components.
- Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications and notifying supervisors for additional resources.
- Maintains equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance, following manufacturer instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs; maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt of supplies.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately.
- Completion of machine shop or electronics courses is a plus.
- Works to deliver on day‑to‑day objectives with minor impact on team results.
- Delivers job responsibilities following a defined standard output or set of procedures.
- Engages in routine tasks with specific instructions to achieve standardized solutions.
- Work is closely supervised.
- Communicates with contacts within immediate job area on matters that involve obtaining or providing information requiring little explanation or interpretation.
- Responsible for checking data and information or troubleshooting when minor changes may be required based on review.
- Daily challenges faced are routine, with solutions clearly prescribed.
- Follows well‑established and familiar processes to derive solutions.
- Not applicable – Jobs at this level focus on self‑development.
- Requires limited knowledge of systems and procedures; follows basic work routines and standards.
- Does not require advanced education and requires little to no prior experience.
