Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to ensure finished products meet quality standards and customer specifications. This position is responsible for performing visual and dimensional inspections, verifying workmanship and materials, and maintaining accurate documentation throughout the manufacturing process.
The ideal candidate will have experience in quality assurance, quality control, welding inspection, fabrication, or manufacturing environments and possess strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities Quality Inspections- Inspect paint quality and welds to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
- Perform dimensional inspections using tape measures and basic measuring tools.
- Conduct 100% visual inspections of welds prior to job completion.
- Verify materials, part numbers, and completed work against prints and documentation.
- Sign off on completed jobs once quality requirements have been met.
- Monitor finishing operations to ensure proper completion and workmanship.
- Coordinate inspection results with shop foremen and production leadership.
- Report quality concerns, defects, shortages, or discrepancies to management.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and assist with additional duties as assigned.
- Operate a forklift and assist with moving steel materials as needed.
- Perform inspections in varying conditions, including outdoor environments and adverse weather when required.
- Maintain awareness of cranes, forklifts, and moving equipment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to read and interpret prints, layouts, and tape measurements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with production teams.
- Previous experience in quality assurance, quality control, welding inspection, fabrication, or manufacturing.
- Experience using measuring tools and reading blueprints.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly; heavier lifting with assistance when necessary.
- Requires close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Ability to safely work around cranes, forklifts, and other moving equipment.
