Supervisor, Manufacturing ​/ Production, Production Manager

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor is responsible for directing production activities through supervision of applicable production supervisors and coordinating the efficient manufacturing of products that meet safety, quality, schedule, and cost objectives with the Operations Manager.

• Plan and direct short‑term (shift, day, and weekly) production functions to meet schedule, quality, and cost goals.
• Analyze production requirements and problems to implement corrective action concerning manpower scheduling, equipment needs, and technical issues.
• Provide planning input to long‑term planning functions based on performance, staffing, and equipment availability.
• Review and analyze cost and schedule data of various operations to monitor performance/productivity and implement improvement plans as required.
• Monitor and control overhead spending to work within approved plant operating budgets.
• Enforce work rules and practices fairly to staff and hourly workforce.
• Provide input on methods to improve productivity through equipment acquisition, better assembly methods, and overhead reductions.
• Ensure employee skills are assessed as needed and create personnel development plans and performance appraisals of all staff.
• Interact with other departments to ensure proper system function.
• Comply with all safety standards and regulations.
• Delegate work to subordinates to ensure efficiency and timely completion of tasks.
• Complete necessary documentation and file appropriately.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Management preferred (or HS Diploma or GED equivalent) with related experience in manufacturing and production supervision.
• At least five years of production and/or supervisory experience.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, specifically Word and Excel.
