Job SummaryResponsible for design assembly processes for products. Perform the research and implement new technologies necessary to tackle complex assembly and automation problems that have direct impact on the quality and production of products. Ensure production’s stability and efficiency.
Job Functions- Responsible for design, verification, and installation of tooling and fixtures based upon project progress, timeline, and budget; ensure newly‑developed tooling is effective.
- Responsible for all tooling/fixture related work instruction drafting, revision, update, and records keeping.
- Provide direction and mentorship to third‑party machine/automation suppliers and/or CM’s; act as technical leader and driver on owned projects; serve as a technical resource to other engineering groups and project leaders.
- Organize cross‑functional reviews of machine requirements, design, qualification and capability.
- Travel to the machine supplier and contract manufacturer for equipment bring‑up, qualification, acceptance testing and support during build events.
- Responsible for research and development of new automated cell based on current manufacturing process standards to increase production efficiency, reduce quality issues, and minimize cost.
- Coordinate between third‑party machine/automation suppliers and internal installation/integration team through planning, installation and integration of new automated cell.
- Designs and develops technically complex processes to improve quality and efficiency. Utilizes statistical tools (such as GR&R, SPC, Cp/pCk) to ensure processes/fixtures are scalable and continue to perform properly once qualified.
- Provides early and ongoing manufacturing involvement to ensure new products are mechanically manufacturable with existing or being developed equipment.

Qualifications- Languages spoken commonly in the workplace is English; bilingual, such as Mandarin, is a plus.
- Ability to read, understand, and comprehend documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to speak effectively and interact with other team members, engineers, leadership, and customers.
- 1 to 3 years manufacturing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in machine design, manufacturing, and automation or equivalent.
Healthy. Able to travel. Able to work in a manufacturing environment. Requires endurance for long periods, such as lifting up to 50 pounds. Visual acuity includes near, far, depth, color, and field vision. Requires safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel‑toed work boots.
Mathematical, Reasoning, and Computer Skills- Mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Reasoning ability: solve practical problems and handle a variety of variables.
- Computer skills: knowledge of programming and usage of Office software, basic network operations, e‑mail, 3D modeling, CAD (UG, Catia, Solid Works), tooling/fixtures installation and troubleshooting, robot cell design and programming, PLC, and vision programming.
- Familiar with manufacturing technology underlying the assembly process.
- Able to communicate with other departments regarding technical issues related to tooling/fixtures.
- Able to guide workshop technicians, technological operations, and new employee training.
- Interpersonal and communication skills; analysis and judgment capability; adaptability to change.
- Receive training concerning company profile, product processing, rules and management regulations, departmental and post workflow.
- Familiar with manufacturing technology relating to tempered and laminated materials, with major quality systems and environmental systems.
