Overview
Consider joining the Pennex family as a PEP (Precision Engineered Products) Supervisor at our Leetonia, OH location. This position will have the opportunity to lead, direct, coordinate, and supervise activities for the team of workers engaged in fabrication and value‑added activities. The production activity supports structural, automotive, ornamental, and other aluminum products.
Responsibilities- Responsible for leading, coaching and evaluating a designated shift for the Precision Engineered Products team
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include:
interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems - Directly supervise employees in the Fabrication Department
- Analyze work orders to determine information such as material to be used, type of operations, and sequence of operations required
- Prepare requisitions for tooling, fixtures, and operational supplies
- Examine defective machinery to identify malfunction and report need for repairs to the Maintenance Manager
- Perform routine quality checks, inspect work in progress, and finished products to ensure quality standards are met
- Oversee saw operations, machining cells, and other value‑added processes in relation to operational effectiveness and continuous improvement
- Must be familiar with 6S projects and utilization of other Lean Manufacturing principles
- Assist in the investigation of customer complaints and quality non‑conformances in the process
- Utilize effective problem‑solving techniques to eliminate problems
- Adhere to standard work practices and coach the team to meet production schedules
- Use production schedules to evaluate worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment and verify performance throughout shift relative to expected rate
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product
- Work with outside processors to manage the production and quality of those processors to meet the customer demands and requirements
- Actively participate in safety training, ensuring compliance with Pennex and OSHA regulations
- Perform activities of workers supervised and other duties as assigned
- Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Associate’s Degree or Trade Certification preferred
- Five or more years of experience and/or training in technical, machining, or metal fabrication; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
- Required Skills/Abilities:
- A desire to work in a fast‑paced, hands‑on manufacturing environment
- Highly motivated, self‑driven, and eager to learn and apply new skills
- Attentive to details and follows through on assigned tasks and commitments
- Flexible and driven to meet tight deadlines; handle multiple projects and prioritize them appropriately
- Strong organizational skills, and ability to effectively communicate information in a clear and concise manner
- Regular attendance required
- Must be able to pass pre‑employment physical and drug screen

Our salary ranges are primarily determined by role, level, and location. The range provided for each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all U.S. locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
