Role Summary
Value Stream Team Leader – Grinder, SES & Turbine

Value Stream Supervisor
- Owns and manages the KPI board
- Monitors performance board throughout the day, at least once per hour
- Ensures 5S standards are adhered to in the area
- Manages team member assignment sheet based on known absences
- Manages Cell(s) huddle
- Process/Shift start‑up and control, i.e., ensure machines, tooling, gauges, fixtures are ready and bins are stocked
- Responds to random calls by team members
- Confirms quality through routine checks
- Cover absenteeism, training and cross‑training and tracks the training matrix
- Runs work orders for quick maintenance
- Ensures standardized work is followed (LPA’s)
- Facilitates small group activities
- Engages in ongoing continuous improvement activities
- Insures parts/materials are supplied to process
- Develops hourly leads and supports team members
- Leads kaizen events for Cell(s)
- Follows up on kaizen target sheet
- Leads the “walk around” discussion
- Eliminates root cause problems
- Manages shift‑to‑shift hand‑off process
- Handles other duties as assigned
- Related product and process experience
- Knowledge of general machining processes and tooling is beneficial
- Associate’s degree from a four‑year college or university, or two years related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Natural sense of urgency
- Basic troubleshooting and root‑cause identification capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple teams and cells
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
- Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
