Production Manager

- 40% – Coordinate the daily activities of operations personnel to manage the flow of production, pursuing departmental, plant, and company goals for safety, quality, and cost using lean manufacturing practices.
- 10% – Lead or participate in team initiatives directed toward achieving operational safety objectives; monitor accident trends, complete incident reports, and manage transitional work.
- 10% – Analyze cost indicators and make appropriate adjustments to improve.
- 10% – Consistently inspect and monitor work areas for compliance with food safety regulations and decide on disposition of questionable product.
- 5% – Model company policies and consistently apply them to all employees; coach and discipline employees where appropriate.
- 5% – Ensure proper and accurate reporting on all production and inventory measurements.
- 5% – Coordinate on‑job training and evaluate skill level achieved for new hires and job transfers.
- 5% – Train employees in quality and safety regulations and ensure compliance.
- 5% – Promote teamwork and recognize exceptional performance where appropriate.
- 5% – Manage the operations improvement process by using facilitation and coaching skills; balance production needs with employees’ needs, promote positive relations, and administer disciplinary action up to and including terminations.
- Monitor, advise, and manage production issues including equipment, ingredients, packaging, allergens and crewing needs.
- Evaluate daily operation problems and make quick decisions supporting departmental, plant, and company objectives.
- Strong oral communication and interpersonal skills to enhance teamwork and drive results.
Must Have
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of previous experience managing/supervising groups of employees in a manufacturing environment.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with lean manufacturing, TPM, or Six Sigma.
- 2–5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food manufacturing/consumer product industry.
- Knowledge of basic techniques for conducting meetings and conveying technical information.
- Ability to assess and respond to critical plant production issues.
- Strong teamwork and coordination with peers and other business units.
- Ability to provide useful advice, facilitate discussions across departments.
- Quick learning of new technologies, software, and hardware components.
- Strong written report preparation skills.
- Leadership capability within project teams.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, active listening, facilitation, conflict resolution.
- Business savvy, strong organization, analysis, and attention to detail.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel); prior SharePoint, Kronos, SAP preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, 24/7 schedule; willingness to work varying hours.
- Track record of delivering excellent business results under demanding timelines.
