Position OverviewThe Production Operator I reports to the Production Manager/Supervisor. The job holder has the responsibility to operate the equipment and all affiliated processes (preparing raw materials & packaging, unloading, packing & labeling) in compliance with legal and company rules.
Primary Responsibilities- Preparation of raw material from staging to weighing.
- Operating processing equipment in line with process instructions and procedures.
- Monitor equipment, keeping processes running at desired run rates.
- Complete the initial testing and release of products to ensure no deviations from specifications.
- Check labels & packaging material, ensuring correct labeling following existing rules and instructions.
- Package the final products in accordance with instructions and H.B. Fuller quality standards.
- Carry out all operations in compliance with the expected quality standards, operating procedures, and EHS rules.
- Maintain housekeeping in the responsible area.
- Carry out any other duties requested by the Production Manager/Supervisor.
- Basic educational degree, high school diploma, or general education diploma.
- Knowledge of common software programs (MS Office).
- Ability to read and understand work orders, production processes, safety regulations, and quality procedures and instructions.
- Availability to work 12‑hour shifts on a 2‑2‑3 schedule.
- Three years of experience in an industrial environment with machine operating skill set.
- Background in plastics machine operation preferred.
- Ability to be cross‑trained to operate all production process equipment.
- Required to stand for long periods of time.
- Walk and climb stairs.
- Use hands to remove or lift boxes.
- Stretch and reach with arms extended.
- Stoop and bend.
- Regularly lift up to 50 pounds and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Temperature, dust, smell, and noise are under normal chemical environment conditions.
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location. The salary for this role is $20.00 per hour.
