Description

The Product Specialist is responsible for the technical execution of tasks and management of product registrations, packaging prep, and compliant labeling of products. This individual will serve in a critical support role to the Finished Good Production Team. This individual must have a high attention to detail in all aspects of their tasks. Additionally, this position is responsible for supporting R&D projects, researching requirements, executing the necessary registration, packaging, and labeling tasks.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Registering products in accordance with state medical cannabis programs and verifying product registration is aligned with label and 3rd party testing results
  • Responsible for the design of compliance label and verifying template appropriately interfaces with printing technology
  • Responsible for daily development, printing and release of compliance labels to be placed on Finished Goods across multiple production sites
  • Ensures complete and accurate data on the label
  • Provide advice with process improvements to eliminate errors and reduce risk
  • Leads product label changes after launch based on defined needs of the business
  • Overall responsible for ensuring production team is setup for success prior to day of production by pulling necessary packaging material from the barn, prepping packaging material and staging it in an orderly fashion to prevent mistakes.
  • Coordinates additional support resource to execute packaging prep and staging and oversees those resources for a successful
  • Develops and maintains formal packaging prep and staging schedule aligned with demand and inventory needs.
  • Verifies packaging inventory quantity on hand is aligned with demand, ensuring the team does not run out of material to run production.
  • Able to collaborate cross departmentally with Marketing, Sales, Production, Distribution, Retail Marketing, Systems and others to assess and determine label requirements and content.
  • Able to support multiple projects and manage workload and task schedules appropriately
  • Understands applicable regulations, labeling guidance, and standards
  • Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Oversee processes and support resource executing processes
Relevant Knowledge,

Skills and Abilities
  • Bachelors or Associates degree in related field is a plus
  • Equivalent of 3 – 5 years relevant work experience in medical industry or related field
  • Experience developing artwork, graphics and publications for regulated industry relating packaging labels, product applied labels, reference or setup guides and product renderings or illustrations
  • MS Office Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
  • Working knowledge of various printing processes
  • Knowledge or experience with Medical Cannabis Programs
  • Knowledge or experience with FDA, USDA, ISO Labeling knowledge
  • Advanced proficiency with written and verbal communications
  • Label creation and printing software experience
  • Must comply with state regulations and guidelines
  • Ability to pass a background check required
  • Must be 21 years of age or older
Physical Requirements
  • Long periods of prolonged sitting and standing
  • Long periods of prolonged use of office equipment including computers and phones
  • Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer
  • May require lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Similar to a busy manufacturing facility or warehouse
  • Occasional exposure to loud trim machines (ear protection provided) and extremely bright lights (eye protection provided)
  • Constant interaction with internal and external stakeholders
