General SummaryThis position assembles, wires, and installs electrical control systems into equipment and tooling being built or modified by NTA.
Essential Job FunctionsA. Studies blueprints, sketches, gages, sample parts, and prototype parts. Visualizes shape, mechanical structure, and operation of fixture or equipment.
B. Organize, plan, and execute all phases of electrical construction.
C. Fabricates brackets for mounting components as required.
D. Fabricates guarding for automated production cells.
E. Installs part presence proximity sensors.
F. Uses assembly component parts to set sensors to proper distance and verify accurate positioning.
G. Bends and installs electrical conduit as required.
H. Adjust fixture part clamps as required for proper function.
I. Supports NASG manufacturing plants with expertise/problem solving.
J. Attends equipment design reviews to advise and offer expertise.
K. Works with machine builders to insure proper function of electrical controls.
L. Gives feedback to electrical engineers on installation issues.
M. Supports internal pre-production tryouts.
N. Work with machine builders to install new equipment into the manufacturing facility.
O. Ensures that all equipment meets NASG safety standards.
P. Review work of electrical engineering technicians to ensure satisfactory workmanship and quality.
Q. Ensures all required electrical documentation is accurate and notifies the electrical engineers of any changes.
R. Interface with external customers when necessary.
S. Provide training to NASG personnel on machine operations and maintenance as required.
T. Maintain a safe work environment and follow safe working practices.
U. Recommend improvements to facilitate company growth.
V. Performs other duties as required or requested.
Minimum Qualifications /RequirementsEducation
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Preferred certificate from college or technical school.
Experience
• One to two years working in a manufacturing environment.
Personal/Technical Skills
• Ability to read electrical prints/schematics.
• Familiarity with OHSA and other safety regulations
• Strong Mechanical and Mathematics aptitude.
• Familiarity with shop tools and equipment. Knowledgeable in the proper selection of tools and equipment. Hand tools such as drivers, wrenches, drills, etc. Machinery such as milling machines, drill press, grinder, etc.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to perform detailed and concise work.
• Ability to communicate and work well with all areas of the tooling group.
• Ability to be adaptable and flexible in a constantly changing environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment to support demanding automotive customer requirements.
• Willingness to receive additional training, forklift, scissors lift, etc.
Computer/Software
• Basic Microsoft Office suite experience (excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
Language Skills
• Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language (English). For the Mexico division this is preferred, not required.

Plant:
Various types of manufacturing environments with moderate noise levels.
Travel:
Moderate
Standing, walking, bending, twisting, reaching, and lifting required daily. Must be able to lift 35 lbs. multiple times throughout the day and 75 lbs. 3 – 4 times per day.
