Job Description
The Electronics Technician assembles, repairs, debugs, and tests electronic circuit cards, wiring harnesses, and related assemblies. This role focuses on validating electronic systems, supporting engineering activities, and ensuring that all products meet rigorous quality and reliability standards through careful testing, documentation, and inspection.
Responsibilities
* Assemble electronic circuit cards and controllers according to detailed production and engineering documentation.
* Repair, debug, and test electronic circuit cards, wiring harnesses, and assemblies to ensure proper functionality and reliability.
* Perform testing and validation of electronic circuits and assemblies using appropriate test procedures and equipment.
* Conduct solder assembly and repair work on surface-mount device (SMD) components as needed.
* Troubleshoot and repair electronic circuits by interpreting electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
* Build wiring harnesses in accordance with specified designs and quality standards.
* Perform visual and microscope inspections to verify workmanship quality and identify defects or nonconformities.
* Carefully follow quality production documentation, test procedures, and workflow instructions to maintain consistent results.
* Support the engineering team by executing test plans, providing feedback from production and test activities, and assisting with qualification efforts.
* Perform temperature and vibration chamber qualification tests to validate product performance under environmental stress conditions.
* Create, maintain, and track manufacturing and quality documents to ensure accurate records and traceability.
* Use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic test equipment to measure, analyze, and verify circuit performance.
* Apply a basic understanding of electrical circuit principles, including current, resistance, and voltage, during troubleshooting and testing.
* Handle and move equipment and materials safely, including lifting items up to 50 pounds as required by production activities.
Essential Skills
* Minimum of a 2-year associate degree in electrical engineering technology or a closely related field.
* At least 15 years of related experience in electronics assembly, test, repair, or similar technical roles.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams accurately.
* Basic understanding of electrical circuit concepts, including current, resistance, and voltage.
* Proficiency in using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other standard electronic test equipment.
* Hands-on experience assembling, repairing, debugging, and testing electronic circuit cards, harnesses, and assemblies.
* Capability to perform some solder assembly and repair work on SMD components.
* Ability to build wiring harnesses according to technical specifications.
* Skill in performing visual and microscope inspections to assess electronic assemblies.
* Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds in a production or lab environment.

Skills & Qualifications
* Through-hole PCB soldering and de-soldering experience.
* Surface-mount PCB soldering and de-soldering experience.
* Familiarity with quality production documentation, test procedures, and workflow instructions.
* Experience supporting engineering teams in a manufacturing or test environment.
* Experience in performing environmental qualification tests such as temperature and vibration chamber testing.
Work Environment
The role is performed 100% on-site in a hands-on electronics production and test environment. The Electronics Technician works in areas equipped with electronic test instruments such as multimeters and oscilloscopes, as well as temperature and vibration chambers used for qualification testing. The work involves bench-level assembly and repair of circuit cards, wiring harnesses, and electronic controllers, including tasks that require careful visual and microscope inspection.
