Inside The Role
This position is responsible for the assembly of DT12 transmissions by way of the established remanufacturing process. Associate is responsible for assembly of all components onto DT12 transmission to a complete build ready for dyno.
What You Drive At DTNAPerform physically demanding manufacturing duties including; repetitive processes, moderate to heavy lifting, the use of machinery, and following standardized work procedures
Actively participate in improving work area in terms of safety, quality, attendance, productivity, suggestion activities, housekeeping, and throughput
Operate torque wrenches, air tools, presses, gauges, hoist, press, hand tools, computers, PIV
Use of pallet jack & hoist
Properly identify component parts by learning identification numbers
Inspect parts and identify parts that do not meet the standard
A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach
Ability to problem solve
Must be able to diagnose unit functionality
Assembly of the transmission, using work instructions, manufacturer's procedures and O.E. specifications
Diagnose and correct issues with build as they arise
Adhere to established work rotation plan
Complete training matrix for each rotation position
Ability to read and understand Work Station Instructions
Use computer systems to access company data associated with the assembly process, utilize drawings, bills of materials and specification sheets in both electronic and hard copy
Knowledge You Should BringMust be capable of repetitive hand manipulation, grasping and supporting power tools
Must be able to stand on concrete for entire shift with repetitive bending, stooping, twisting, reaching and lifting up to 50 pounds. (with assistance from a team member or use of hoist)
Must maintain a clean work area.
Meet quality standards and implement continuous improvement measures
Cross train on other jobs as required
Ability to operate riveting, torquing, hand tools and small power tools in a safe and nondestructive manner.
Read and understand Work Station Instruction documentation
Ability to collaborate with a team and work independently
Ability to work overtime when necessary
Established satisfactory attendance record and performance rating
Perform other duties as assigned
Exceptional Candidates Might HavePrevious experience in a manufacturing (automotive/trucking) environment
Previous mechanical experience
High School Diploma / GED preferred and further college education a plus
