CNC Machinist

This role involves setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC lathes and multi-spindle machines in a high-volume production environment. You will run multiple machines at once, ensure parts meet strict quality standards, and perform basic program edits using G and M codes. The position requires strong blueprint reading skills, precise use of measuring instruments, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, organized workspace.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and monitor CNC lathes and multi-spindle machines in a mass production environment.
  • Run multiple CNC machines simultaneously while consistently meeting quality and production requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and detailed work instructions to produce accurate parts.
  • Understand and perform basic program edits using G and M codes as needed to maintain part specifications.
  • Adjust machines to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality throughout the production process.
  • Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges to verify part dimensions.
  • Inspect parts at various stages of production and accurately document quality checks.
  • Load raw materials into machines and safely unload finished parts from equipment.
  • Troubleshoot minor machine issues and promptly communicate more complex problems to supervisors or maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company standards.
  • Follow all company safety policies, production procedures, and quality guidelines on every shift.

Essential Skills

  • Proven CNC operation experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings accurately.
  • Working knowledge of G and M codes, including making basic program edits.
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes and multi-spindle machines.
  • Proficiency using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges.
  • Capability to run multiple machines simultaneously while maintaining quality and productivity.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining dimensional accuracy.
  • Ability to follow written work instructions, safety policies, and production procedures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with Swiss lathes and screw machines.
  • Background in mass production of parts rather than job shop work.
  • CNC setup experience, including tooling and offset adjustments.
  • Familiarity with multi-spindle equipment and high-volume machining operations.
  • Comfort working in a large machine shop environment.

Work Environment

You will work in a large machine shop focused on mass production of parts rather than job shop work. The facility is not temperature controlled, so conditions may vary with the seasons. The role is a direct hire position on the second shift, typically from 2:45 p.m. to 12:45 a.m. on a 5-day, 10-hour schedule, with potential consideration for first shift in certain areas.

You will operate CNC lathes, multi-spindle machines, and related equipment, using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, indicators, and gauges in a busy, production-oriented environment.

This is a Permanent position based out of Wellington, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $62400.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
