Plant Manager Requirements & Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience in custom fabrication, rebar, structural steel, or a similar, project-driven operation
- Strong background in production planning, employee development, and operational improvement
- Demonstrated ability to adapt, communicate, and manage changing priorities
- Commitment to safety and OSHA compliance
Plant Manager Preferred Background & Skills
- Experience in rebar or structural steel fabrication, miscellaneous metals, or heavy/industrial construction
- Ability to lead by example and build trust on the production floor with a team that has been there through it all (legacy team members)
- Ability to learn from direct reports to gain "why" knowledge.
- Data-driven problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset
Plant Manager Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of the fabrication operation, including safety, quality, productivity, and scheduling of multiple jobs simueltaneously
- Support, coach, and develop production employees while building future supervisors and leaders
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in process, labor efficiency, and equipment utilization
- Ensure inventory accuracy, efficient material flow, and on-time shipping coordination
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to deliver project-based solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations
- Monitor, measure, and report success through KPIs and clearly defined operational goals
