Position Summary The Material Handler will be responsible for moving pallets of material around the warehouse with ease. The material handler will need to ensure the product is secure and safe for transport to designated locations and keep accurate inventory of all finished good.
Shift: Monday - Friday 4:30am-3pmPay: $18-$20/hour DOE Essential Responsibilities Operates a Power Industrial Truck (PIT) to move products and pallets safely throughout the warehouse.
Accurately transports all purchased, manufactured, WIP, raw materials and finished goods by checking counts and scanning to the correct location and confirming product labels are accurate.
Ensures that product is moved and scanned to the correct location and confirms product labels are accurate.
Communicates any discrepancies, product issues or safety issues with the Supervisor.
Successfully passes all Novo powered industrial truck training and operates a PIT following all safety requirements established within Novo.
Complies with all company policies and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
Effectively perform all essential functions, including physical requirements.
Ability to move awkward product lengths and weights.
Experience with operating a sit-down and stand-up PIT.Use of proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and company approved tools while remaining aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environment.
Basic math, interpersonal/team, and reasoning skills.
Ability to use tape guns, make boxes, lift pallets, stack boxes, etc.
Must be 18 years of older.
Able to visually inspect items for defects prior to pulling the item.
Demonstrated capability to effectively use tape guns, make boxes, lift pallets, stack boxes, etc.
Ability to read, understand and carry out written procedures and standard work instructions.
Flexibility in scheduling – able to work overtime as needed.
Use of proper PPE and company approved tools while remaining aware of hazards and maintaining a safe work environment.
Preferred Qualifications Must be 18 years of older.
High School Diploma or GED.Prior experience in manufacturing environment.
Experience operating a powered industrial truck.
Travel Requirements No travel requirements.
Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Able to withstand exposure to seasonal weather elements and wood dust.
Reach with hands and arms, depth perception.
Sit for long lengths of time driving PIT.Working bent at waist, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, and twist.
Lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. on an infrequent basis.
Lift, push or pull 50-100 lbs. with assistance.
