Manufacturing Engineer – Tempering Assembly Backlite Dept
Full Time Key Position – Moraine, OH, US
Job SummaryResponsible for improving pretreatment product quality, reducing scrap rate in the pretreatment production process, enhancing output, launching new automotive glass products into mass production, and implementing lean manufacturing initiatives such as Kaizen, 5S, and Six Sigma.
Responsibilities- Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Develop, implement, and optimize production workflows, layouts, and standard work.
- Support new equipment installation and lead process validation.
- Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Production teams to resolve issues.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cycle time, yield, and downtime.
- Implement Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support the launch of new automotive glass products and ensure smooth transition into mass production.
- Other duties as assigned.
- English and/or Mandarin language proficiency with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to stand for long periods, bend, reach, lift up to 50 lbs, and pass static strength requirements.
- Knowledge of manufacturing software.
- Mathematical skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in all units of measure.
- Reasoning ability to solve practical problems.
- Coating technology knowledge, training, and organizational skills.
- Leadership, communication, and coordination abilities.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Requires standing, turning, reaching, bending, squatting, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Moderate noise level, occasional exposure to extreme heat. Safety requirements include safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toed work boots. Visual acuity requirements cover near, far, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
Shift & Hours8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 1st Shift.
