Position summary :
The Baler Operator is responsible forbaling products for recycling that meet the quality and safety standards forboth the companyandits customers.
Essential functions:
- Follow established policies and procedures on the baling process, including use of Personal Protective Equipment.
- Ensure that the workstation contains the correct components and safety procedures have been followed prior to assembly.
- Maintain open communication with supervisors, team leaders and material handlers regarding production status (i.e., downtime, material shortage, etc.).
- Maintain daily production sheets utilizing the correct task codes for production time, downtime, floor time, etc.; ensure that daily production totals are accurate.
- Assists as Box Truck Helper as necessary.
- Maintain a good attendance record.
- Maintain work area, including sweeping, emptying garbage, etc.
- Maintain regular and reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Attend safety trainings and follow all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe and supervised work environment for all employees at all times.
- Promote positive teamwork among co-workers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and required skills:
- Knowledge of Safety/OSHA regulations.
- Ability to safely use power tools as required to maintain facility and equipment.
- Ensures proper use of Personal Protective Equipment when required.
- Ability to use physical exertion such as prolonged periods of standing, walking, recurring bending, reaching and climbing; ability to lift up to 25lbs. consistently.
Education and experience:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- 2years' experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
