The Quality Inspector I is responsible for conducting thorough inspections of aluminum extrusions and fabricated components, identifying deviations from specifications, and implementing corrective actions. Keen attention to detail, understanding of industry standards, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams will contribute to maintaining the highest levels of quality throughout the manufacturing process.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares Tensile Samples using Oliver & band saws and drill press
- P erform s Tensile tests using Tinius Olsen equipment
- Document s test results using Document Manager system
- Create s material certifications using spreadsheet form(s)
- Prepares samples for Flare testing and folding tests
- Performs flare and folding tests using Tinius and hydraulic press
- Documents test results by photographic means
- Creates material certifications using spreadsheet form(s)
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 or more years of related quality experience and/or training
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials and equipment
- Consistently exhibits a positive, respectful attitude towards co-workers and customers
- Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Must be eligible to work in the United States, visa sponsor ships are not available
- Regular attendance required
- The employee is regularly required to stand.
- The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit and use hands.
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
- The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles and extreme heat.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
