Production Manager, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Capitol Conveyors is looking for a hands‑on Production Supervisor to help lead our production operations and ensure every system that leaves our facility meets our standards for quality, performance, and on‑time delivery.
This is a great opportunity for someone who understands conveyor systems, enjoys solving problems, and is equally comfortable leading a production floor, working directly with customers, and jumping in alongside the team when needed.
What You’ll DoAs Production Supervisor, you will oversee day‑to‑day production activities while helping coordinate people, materials, inventory, quality, and project schedules.
Responsibilities will include:- Lead and manage day‑to‑day activities on the production floor
- Coordinate production schedules to ensure projects are completed accurately and delivered on time
- Maintain a strong focus on product quality and workmanship throughout the manufacturing process
- Manage and organize the stock room, parts, materials, and inventory needed for production
- Identify potential production issues and proactively work to keep projects moving
- Provide hands‑on support with conveyor assembly, troubleshooting, testing, and system integration
- Work with MDR conveyor systems and related controls
- Assist with basic programming, controls, or system configuration when needed
- Communicate with customers regarding projects, troubleshooting, service needs, and project expectations
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure customer commitments are met
- Participate in occasional field work, installation, service, or troubleshooting at customer facilities
- Help create an organized, accountable, and safety‑focused production environment
- Step in wherever needed to help the team meet critical production and delivery deadlines
The ideal candidate has a combination of technical conveyor knowledge, production leadership experience, and strong customer communication skills.
Preferred qualifications include:- Experience with MDR (Motor Driven Roller) conveyor systems
- Experience supervising or managing a manufacturing, assembly, or production environment
- Working knowledge of conveyor controls and electrical systems
- Basic programming, PLC, controls, or automation experience is strongly preferred
- Experience managing inventory, parts, or a stock room
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read drawings, layouts, schematics, or technical documentation
- Strong organizational and project‑management skills
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills
- Ability to balance multiple projects and changing priorities
- High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality
- A sense of urgency and accountability when working toward customer delivery dates
- Willingness to perform occasional field work and travel as needed
This is a full‑time position with flexibility in working hours. Production schedules, customer needs, field work, and delivery commitments may occasionally require extended hours. We are looking for someone who understands that in our industry, getting the job done right and getting it delivered when we said we would matters.
