Position: Toolmaker (2nd Shift)
Location: Wauseon

Brief Description

This role focuses on programming and machining parts according to blueprints, drawings, and/or layouts.

Core Responsibilities

Program and machine parts according to blueprints, drawings, and/or layouts.
Setup, operate, and disassemble lathes, mills, and/or grind machines.
Verify dimensions, sizes, shapes, and tolerances of work pieces.
Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools and work pieces.
Turn, mill, drill, shape, and grind parts to specifications.
Complete required purchase requisitions, inspection sheets, and production sheets.
Clean and deburr parts, work area, and machine tools.
Identify questions or concerns for customers.
Complete high-quality work on time with minimal scrap and rework, including conducting "5 Whys" when appropriate.
Perform basic preventative maintenance on machine tools and diagnose machine tool issues as needed.

Qualifications

Experience running CNC mills and/or lathes (e.g.,Haas and Okuma lathes/mills).
Understanding and experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
Experience with setup and programming, using Mastercam
Experience reading, writing, and editing G-Code.
Strong math abilities (decimals, fractions, etc.) and ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints.
Ability to stand for long period of time.
Ability to lift 30+ pounds

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years CNC machining experience; additional education or certification preferred.
Experience running CNC mills and/or lathes (Mazak, Integrex, Milltronics, UMC, Haas,horizontal CNC, and manual lathes/mills).
GD&T understanding and experience.
Experience with setup and programming, using Mastercam.
Experience reading, writing, and editing G-Code.
Strong math abilities (decimals, fractions etc.) and ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints.
Ability to perform quality checks.
Must have knowledge and use of specialty tooling.
