Machine Operator Assistant

CNC / MANUAL MACHINING OPERATOR

Manufacturing | Full-Time | Willing to Train the Right Person*
* Are you mechanically inclined and looking for an opportunity to grow your machining skills?*
* We are looking for a dependable, hands-on individual to join our manufacturing team.
** Previous machining experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person!*
* 🔧 WHAT YOU’LL DO

* Load and unload raw materials and finished parts into CNC machinery

* Set up and operate
** manual lathes, drills, and Bridgeport mills
** for short-run jobs

* Perform finishing work including
** belting, deburring, and grinding*
* * Read
** blueprints and mechanical drawings*
* * Use precision measuring tools to ensure parts meet specifications

* Assist and backfill for team members to keep production moving

* Switch between a variety of tasks throughout the day

* Complete required production paperwork accurately

* Work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative

* Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area across multiple shop stations

⭐ WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

* High school diploma/GED preferred; vocational training is a plus

* Previous experience with
** manual mills, lathes, or drills
** preferred

* Understanding of CNC machine operation and part loading

* Strong mechanical aptitude

* Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments

* Strong attention to detail and time management

* Dependable, adaptable, and results-oriented

* Ability to learn machine operating procedures and follow safety requirements

* Basic computer skills and understanding of manufacturing processes

💪 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This is an active manufacturing position requiring:

* Standing for extended periods

* Bending, reaching, and lifting parts using proper techniques and lift assists when needed

* Awareness of
** impact, crush, cut, and pinch-point hazards*
* * Chemical/SDS awareness

* Ability to work in varying seasonal temperatures

** Required PPE will be specified by the department supervisor.*
