About the Employer
The Apostolate for Family Consecration (AFC) ® supports and challenges Catholic
families to grow in holiness, grow in truth, and grow together so that they can
become fully alive in Christ. We offer Catholic family vacations, retreats, and
resources to lead families to an encounter with Jesus and form them in the truths
of our Catholic Faith.
Major Duties and Functions:
- Develop the Advancement team strategic goals and objectives and provide regular reporting on these matrices.
- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and close major gifts ($10,000+).
- Maintain an active portfolio of 100 - 150 prospective benefactors who can support the ministry.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships through personal visits, calls, and written communication.
- Assist with the establishment of the AFC as a national brand among constituents.
- Develop and maintain a communications plan for the Advancement program which is updated annually.
- Coordinate with Development and Marketing Manager, plan and design direct mail, e-mail, video, and other stewardship and solicitation opportunities for major donors/prospects.
- Plan and design the production and distribution of annual “investor” reports, newsletters, brochures, and other marketing materials in support of Advancement team goals along with special gift and capital campaigns.
- Actively participate in regular AFC Staff and Business Development meetings.
- Represent the AFC in the local diocese, churches, and the public.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the organization.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record of securing gifts at $10,000+
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Enthusiasm and excellent people skills.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
- Understanding of Donor Search, data analytics tools, and donor databases.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree and at least 5-7 years’ experience working in nonprofit
- with major gifts and fund development efforts. Work for nonprofits in faith based, mission-driven settings highly preferred.
- Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of time sitting and using a computer.
- Occasionally you will be required to stand and walk for 30 minutes or more.
- Occasionally you will be required to stand, reach, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs
