About the Church
Walnut Street Church of Christ, 401 Walnut Street, Belpre, Ohio, invites a Lead Minister to guide our growing, youth-oriented congregation.
Position OverviewThis role focuses on preparing and delivering sermons, guiding small group programs, and leading ministry teams under the oversight of Elders. The Lead Minister will drive evangelism, partner with Elders in pastoral care, and contribute to strategic vision for the church.
Primary Responsibilities- Prepare and deliver sermons and biblical studies
- Guide small group program
- Lead, oversee, and direct ministry leaders, deacons, and volunteer staff under Elders’ oversight
- Attend church events and drive evangelism initiatives
- Partner with Elders on pastoral care, visitations, and overall vision
- Evaluate ministry effectiveness and guide leadership in strategic planning
- Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies or related field
- Demonstrated Christian living and reputation of humility, patience, hospitality
- Strong organizational, communication, and relationship‑management skills
- Passion for kingdom growth and experience in a growing church environment
- Ability to connect with youth and a blue‑collar, fun‑loving, welcoming, supportive congregation
- Confidence in speaking and extensive Bible knowledge
- Effective verbal and written communication
- Successful relationship management in church setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, social media, and website management
- Preaching experience preferred; not required if strong potential
- Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
