Location: The Plains
Serve with the Appalachian Ohio Restore Corps (AORC) and help support Rural Action, a membership‑based non‑profit organization promoting a healthy people, planet, purpose, and prosperity in Appalachian Ohio. AORC mobilizes nearly 70 Ameri Corps members to help educate youth and the public, restore, conserve, and preserve environmental resources, improve food distribution to people in poverty, support reduced waste and recycling initiatives, and promote economic resilience through conservation and sustainability projects.
Members are placed with Rural Action programs or community non‑profits to support specific projects and initiatives related to Conservation & Restoration, Agriculture, Forestry, Education, Reduced Waste, and Public Lands Access. During a term of service, training opportunities such as First Aid/CPR, Wilderness First Responder, and GIS/GPS are offered, providing certifications that support members' service experiences and prepare them for the next step in their careers.

Experience working with youth is preferred. Some positions may require the ability to lift and carry 40 lbs and hike over rough terrain in all types of weather. Some evenings and weekends may be required.
